A DAY AT THE SOWERS' SCHOOL

Since Marie-Cécile Pennequin created the Sower School in 2020, Rouchette has been a partner and supporter of this innovative production school which trains young people for a CAP in early produce with an adapted teaching method.
Located in an exceptional setting, on the estate of the château de Beaumesnil (27), the Sowers School helps young people, some of whom have dropped out of school, to learn about organic market gardening and the sale of produce in a short circuit. With the teaching method proposed by the school, the pupils spend two thirds of their time learning in the field, in the garden. We have chosen to support the students by providing them with free gardening boots to enable them to complete the school year in the best possible conditions, by having the right equipment for their daily training.
Sébastien Rouchette, went to the school for a day, alongside the students and the Sower School team. Nathan, 18, and Florentin, 16, told us about their daily lives at the school, and showed us their work in the greenhouse, picking and selling. In the morning they are in the classroom to follow the courses related to their CAP. In the afternoon, they put their "hands in the ground" in the greenhouse and garden to sow, transplant, plant and care for the fruit and vegetables that are then sold to customers who come to the school's stand. Here too, the pupils are accompanied to organise the stand and make the sales.
This day was an opportunity to share moments around the garden, values that we all share and to gather their opinions on our products! Who better than everyday users like the pupils and the Sower School team to tell us what they think of our boots?
Born of a common encounter, this partnership is a way of giving shape to the values of our company and making the brand accessible to as many people as possible. In addition, we pay the apprenticeship tax to the school to support and perpetuate the school.
A brand for everyone
Rouchette is committed to an adapted pedagogy with Marie Cécile Pennequin, director of L'école des Semeurs.
Her production school is the first in France to specialise in organic market gardening and the sale of products in a short circuit.
The school's objective is to train and integrate young people who have dropped out of school from the age of 15, thanks to an adapted teaching method and an exceptional setting, as it is located on the estate of the Château de Beaumesnil.
