Benjamin Dutreux joins Damien Seguin for the 2021 Transat Jacques Vabre

Benjamin Dutreux is joining Damien Seguin on his IMOCA boat Groupe Apicil for the 15th edition of the Transat Jacques Vabre.

They met and discovered each other during the 2020 Vendée Globe, where they shared a part of the race neck and neck. Damien Seguin finished 7th in the Vendée Globe and Benjamin came 9th, competition and performance are their keywords. It is also the human aspect that is at the heart of this duo, which is committed to promoting inclusion and has participated in the Transat Jacques Vabre four times.

They sailed their first race together on board the IMOCA Groupe Apicil in the Rolex Fastnet Race where they finished in 7th position. They are ready to take the start of this 15th edition of the Transat Jacques Vabre alongside 78 crews divided into four classes.

Benjamin Dutreux, skipper in the 2020 Vendée Globe

Yes, then no, then yes. Getting to the Vendée Globe is never a smooth ride, especially during a health crisis. It took Benjamin Dutreux a great deal of persistence to finally take part in this 9th edition, after a partner had to withdraw. But the Sablais couldn't not be there, so he fought to find partners, for himself and for the project he is carrying: the Water Family, an association that never stops warning about the damage linked to pollution and global warming and to raise awareness among young and old alike about the protection of water, our health and the planet.

He finished the 2020 Vendée Globe in 9th place, but he does not intend to stop there!

Benjamin Dutreux, a new Rouchette skipper on his feet!

This collaboration has a double objective: to bring together the experience of a sportsman with the aim of improving our products in a sustainable way, while defending the common values of education and respect for the environment.
